Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner with a Level 3 qualification to join our vibrant nursery, catering for 9 months – 4 years. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop holistically.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Development:
- Provide high-quality care and education to children in the nursery.
- Plan, implement and evaluate a range of stimulating activities that promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of each child.
- Ensure that all children’s needs are met and that they are supported in reaching their full potential.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of each child’s progress and development.
- Complete observations and assessments in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS)
- Contribute to the development of individual learning plans for children.
Partnership with Parents:
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child’s development, daily activities and any concerns.
- Encourage parental involvement in nursery activities and events.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the nursery team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
- Support and mentor less experienced staff members and apprentices.
Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
- Keep up-to-date with current childcare practices and legislation.
- Reflect on and improve own practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Eg:, NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3 or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years working in a nursery or early years setting.
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Desirable:
- Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Safeguarding Training
- Experience with certain age groups (Eg:, Babies, Toddlers, Pre-Schoolers)
- Personal Attributes:
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Eg:, NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3 or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years working in a nursery or early years setting.
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
